My 13 year old daughter is going to take online courses this year so we were looking for a lightweight headset with good sound quality. From my personal experience with other headsets (like my Logitech, about the same price), my head hurt after an hour of internet meeting from the weight and the pressure on the sides, and I don’t want my daughter to have the same problem. I am surprised by how light and pressure-free this headset is.

My daughter just plugged it in an USB port, went through the standard sound setup (which popped up automatically) and started to use it. She has VAIO CR120E notebook (about 1.5 years old) with Vista Home edition.

I was unsure about the plastic parts, thinking it may have been made of cheap material and poisonous white paint. After opening the package, there was a tiny bit of a new plastic smell when I sniffed it very closely. But the smell was gone after a few hours. The headset looked a lot nicer out of the package.

Since my daughter is the person using it, she wrote the review below:

So, like my mom said, it’s really lightweight and it doesn’t feel like anything’s on my head, so my ears don’t hurt after a while. It fits my ears perfectly. The sound is great and it’s easy to fold, although the cord is a bit long. But then I can grab something far off with my headphones still on. The paint looks nicely sprayed on, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to rub off anytime soon. It’s also my favorite color :]

As far as the headset itself – just fabulous. Just the right size for our 12 year old. Not flimsy like the ones with the cheap foam covering a metal or plastic earpiece.

USB works fine with Windows XP. However, we still have not been able to get them working with Vista. Computer recognizes them, says they’re there, but no sound. No big deal – they work fine with the regular mic/speaker jacks. Works fine with Skype and Google Video/Chat.
